Hi, I’m Layla: thank you for taking the step to be here looking for support.
As a Mental Health Intern, I bring warmth, honesty, and a deep respect for your story, wherever you’re starting from. My approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and the belief that you are the expert in your life. I aim to create a space where you feel supported and seen, without pressure to pretend or “have it all together.” Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, lonely, or unsure, you deserve a nonjudgmental, brave space to reflect, work things through, and reconnect with what matters most to you.
I work primarily with adults and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, and life transitions. I also support clients managing school or career stress, burnout, and relationship concerns, especially those related to family dynamics.
As a first-generation Asian Pacific Islander woman, I bring personal insight into cultural complexity, generational tension, and the challenge of balancing belonging with authenticity. I strive to create an affirming and safe space for individuals of all backgrounds, especially those of historically marginalized communities, where you can explore your identity without pressure to be anyone but yourself.
In our work together, you can expect a blend of empathy, honesty, and even humor, all rooted in supporting your goals. My style is collaborative and affirming, using tools from CBT, person-centered therapy, solution-focused work, and trauma-informed care. I also draw inspiration from relational-cultural therapy and interpersonal social rhythm therapy, tailoring each session to what’s most helpful for you in the moment.
If you’re looking for a therapist who is warm, curious, and caring — and who will walk alongside you without judgment — I’d be honored to work with you.
Layla comes to us from Bushnell University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. She accepts PacificSource OHP as well as wellness-rate sliding scale.
