Hi, I'm Emily Eismann, I am currently completing my practicum and internship as part of my master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling under the supervision of Marcy Smaha, LPC.

My presence in the therapy room tends to be warm, calm, and thoughtful. I believe in the power of connection and the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to cultivate an environment where you feel emotionally safe, seen, and never judged. I consider therapy to be a partnership where holding space becomes the foundation from which healing and growth can emerge.

I am particularly drawn to working with people experiencing burnout, as well as those navigating ADHD, anxiety, and depression. My approach is grounded in humanistic therapy with a particular interest in self-compassion and body awareness. I'm passionate about somatic approaches to healing and am currently training in Somatic Experiencing. This body-oriented work with trauma and the nervous system is deeply influencing my clinical perspective and the way I show up for clients. I am interested in how emotions are held in the body and believe that attending to both our internal emotional landscape and physical sensations can create opportunities for healing.

A little bit about who I am: I was diagnosed with ADHD in my 30s and experience auditory sensitivity. I understand how exhausting it can be to be neurodivergent in a society with neurotypical expectations. As a white woman, I recognize many of the ways I have benefited from privilege and am committed to examining my own biases and showing up authentically for all of my clients. I am sharing this because these aspects of my identity inform how I show up in therapy—with humility about what I don't know, commitment to ongoing learning, and deep respect for each person's unique experience and perspective.

I want to meet my clients with empathy, acceptance, compassion, and collaboration to build trust and safety. My approach centers on helping individuals develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves while honoring the wisdom that lives in both mind and body.
