“With self-compassion, we give ourselves the same kindness and care we'd give to a good friend." -Kristin Neff
Hi, I'm Emily Eismann (she/her). I am currently completing my practicum and internship as part of my master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling under the supervision of Marcy Smaha, LPC.
My presence in the therapy room tends to be warm, calm, and thoughtful. I believe deeply in the power of connection and the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to cultivate an environment where you feel emotionally safe, seen, and never judged. I consider therapy to be a collaborative partnership where holding space becomes the foundation from which healing and growth can emerge.
I am particularly drawn to working with people experiencing burnout, as well as those navigating ADHD, anxiety, and depression. My approach is grounded in humanistic therapy with a particular interest in self-compassion and body awareness. I also draw from ACT principles, helping clients build psychological flexibility and move toward what matters to them even when difficult thoughts and feelings are present. I am interested in how emotions are held in the body and believe that attending to both our internal emotional landscape and physical sensations can create opportunities for healing.
I want to meet my clients with empathy, acceptance, compassion, and collaboration to build trust and safety. My approach centers on helping individuals develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves while honoring the wisdom that lives in both mind and body.
Emily comes to us from the University of the Cumberlands Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. She accepts PacificSource OHP as well as wellness-rate sliding scale.
