“We commit to our own healing in part because the realization that what we are dreaming of rests on it. It is our responsibility to one another to do our internal work, not so that we feel good alone but to stay an active part of the whole and to refuse to pass down to the next generation what pain we've accrued.” – Prentis Hemphill
I’m Cassandra (they/she), a queer, white professional counselor associate, a highly sensitive person, someone who navigates c-ptsd, and a student of the natural world. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Hakomi, a mindfulness-based somatic modality, and shaped by a deep trust in the body’s innate wisdom. I bring an attachment-focused, trauma-informed lens and a warm, collaborative style that honors pacing, the time it takes to build trust, and that slowing down is medicine we often don’t get enough of.
I integrate somatics, parts work, ecotherapy, transpersonal and liberation psychology, mindfulness, and Process Work. I work with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan, with special interest in grief, trauma, psychedelic integration, sensitivity, belonging, spiritual inquiry, cultural trauma, and relationship dynamics.
Healing happens in the context in which we have grown and live, so it's important that we can talk about aspects of identity (class, race, sexuality, ability, gender, age, and more) because the interplay between each identity we have impacts our life experience. Sometimes we must also be present to the fact that when we are healing, we are doing so within systems that are actively traumatizing — and we must tend to that grief and pain. I am continually engaged in decolonizing my own mind and body. I value feedback and strive to show up with humility and care.
Outside the therapy room, I teach meditation, psychology, and self-compassion to teens and educators. I hold a master’s in Integral Counseling Psychology from CIIS and have completed the two-year Hakomi training. In my spare time, I learn guitar, dance, engage with plant medicines, and tend to my home, spirit, and relationships.
